2008-2008 Scholarship Application and Requirements

 

 

Welcome Students!

National Garden Clubs, Inc. offers 34 $3500 scholarships, and Colorado Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. offers one $1000 scholarship annually to Junior, and Senior students, and Masters candidates majoring in Agricultural Education, Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Botany, Biology, Plant Pathology/Science, Forestry, Agronomy, Environmental Concerns (Management, Horticultural Resources, Environmental Behavior, etc.),Economics (related to agriculture), Environmental Conservation (including Environmental Law), City (Rural and Urban) Planning, Wildlife Science, Habitat or Forest Systems Ecology, Land Management, and/or other related or allied subjects. Sophomores at Junior or Community Colleges may apply for Junior year funding. One application packet is for both scholarships.

Requirements are that the applicant apply through the state where he/she is a legal resident (each state’s chairman is listed at the end of the attached brochure), be a major in the subjects listed above, and have a 3.25 or better GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of academic record, the applicant’s letter, and financial need.

Application deadline for these scholarships is March 1, 2008.
